The Institute of Economics at the University was established in 1993 on the basis of the Faculty of Economics in order to improve the training of economists and managers taking into account their own experience and studying the experience of the advanced Ukrainian and foreign higher learning establishments.

The Institute includes:

• Faculty of management
• Faculty of finances and economics

Nowadays economic education is to meet the society’s requirements and market economy. The former is very important for shaping a new type of human resources, which is essential for providing successful economic reforms in Ukraine, transforming non-effective economic structures, introducing them into competitive market level.

Preparation of the researchers and teaching staff carried out by postgraduate and doctoral studies.

The main directions of the scientific activity:

• Economics of the mining industry;
• Economics of using natural resources;
• Public relations;
• Leadership.
