SCIENTIFIC AND EDUCATIONAL CENTER OF MINING MECHANICS OF 

DNIPRO UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY

Established in 2010 as a unit of the National Mining University (now Dnipro University of Technology) and the Research Institute of Mining Mechanics named after M.M. Fedorov.

Participants of the Center: Dnipro University of Technology and the Research Institute of Mining Mechanics named after M.M. Fedorov.

Grounds for the creation of the center: Order of the Rector of Dnipro University of Technology G.G. Pivnyak №7 from 11.01.2010 and the Order of the Director of the Research Institute of Mining Mechanics named after M.M. Fedorov №8 dated 20.01.2010; Statute on the Scientific and Educational Center of Mining Mechanics of the National Mining University (now - Dnipro University of Technology).

The main purpose of the Center is to ensure the consistency of scientific research; improving the organization and performing the studies at the University and the Institute; development and implementation of efficient stationary and technology of its use; concentration and effective utilization of educational and scientific potential by involving scientists and specialists in the coal industry; retraining and advanced training of specialists with higher education in the field of mining mechanics.

The main tasks of the Center:

· Obtaining a scientific product in the form of new theoretical research results, technologies, utility models and samples, inventions, etc .;

· Building the knowledge triangle: science - education - innovation;

· Target fundamental retraining of highly qualified personnel.

The main activities of the Center:

· Retraining and advanced training of specialists with higher education and scientific and pedagogical staff of higher qualification with the participation of leading scientists of the Institute and specialists of the coal industry of Ukraine;

· Organizing, coordinating and conducting joint scientific research, facilitating the implementation of scientific development of the University and the Institute in production;

· Forecasting, development of joint target programs, substantiation of prospects and priority directions of development of stationary equipment of mining enterprises, alternative energy sources;

· Organization and coordination of international scientific and technical cooperation with higher educational establishments and scientific institutions of foreign countries in the directions of the main activity of the Center;

· Preparation and holding of joint scientific conferences, symposia, seminars;

· Information support of scientific and educational activities of the University and the Institute;

· Introduction of the research and development of the University and the Institute;

· Cooperation with sectoral organizations, enterprises, research institutes and other enterprises and organizations of various forms of ownership, including foreign ones, to fulfill the tasks of the Center;

· Organizing and conducting refresher training and retraining courses in the Center's fields of work;

· Participation in international events in the field of education, science, retraining and advanced training of specialists.

The main priority directions of the scientific-educational activity and development of the Center are:

· Ensuring budgetary, economic and commercial effect by combining the resources, plans and economic mechanisms of the academic and university research sectors;

· Improving the training of higher education specialists for the Ukrainian coal industry;

· Providing internships for the University's scientists in research institutions, sharing high-tech scientific equipment.
