The Scientific and Educational Center of Physics of Nanoprocesses and Rock (hereinafter – Center) is a structural unit of the Dnipro University of Technology, which operates based on the current legislation of Ukraine, the Statute of the University and the Statute of the Center.

The main purpose of the Center is to ensure the consistency of scientific research; strengthening of the methodological influence of the NAS of Ukraine on the organization and performing scientific studies in the University and the Institute; development and implementation of effective technologies for managing the state of rock masses in the extraction of minerals; concentration and effective application of educational and scientific potential by involving scientists of the NAS of Ukraine in teaching; retraining and advanced training in the field of rocks of specialists with higher education.

The main tasks of the Center are:

· Obtaining a scientific product in the form of new theoretical research results, technologies, utility models and samples, inventions, etc.;

· Creating the knowledge triangle: science-education-innovation;

· Target fundamental retraining of highly qualified personnel.

The main activities of the Center:

· Retraining and advanced training of specialists with higher education and scientific and pedagogical staff of higher qualification with the participation of leading specialists of the NAS of Ukraine

· Organizing, coordinating and conducting joint scientific research, facilitating the implementation of scientific developments of the University and the Institute in production;

· Forecasting, development of common target programs, substantiation of prospects and priority directions of development of safe and efficient technologies of mining;

· Organization and coordination of international scientific and technical cooperation with higher educational establishments and scientific institutions of foreign countries in the direction of the main activity of the Center;

· Preparation and holding of joint scientific conferences, symposia, seminars;

· Information support of scientific and educational activities of the University and the Institute;

· Introduction of R&D into production;

· Cooperation with sectoral organizations, enterprises, research institutes, and other enterprises and organizations of various forms of ownership, including foreign ones, to fulfill the tasks of the Center;

· Organizing and conducting refresher training and retraining courses for the Center's areas of work;

· Participation in international events in the field of education, science, retraining and advanced training of specialists.
